INGREDIENTS:
(for dough)
• 1 glass maize oil
• 1 glass evaporated milk (diluted)
• 1 Egg.
• 1 sachet dry yeast
• salt
• flour, all-purpose as much as needed.
• 1 Egg for brushing
(for filling)
• feta cheese
• various yellow cheese of your choice
• 1 beaten egg
• pepper
• I can’t give you the exact quantities of cheese, for this amount of dough you’ll need a deep dish with grated cheeses, it makes about 40 individual pies.
PREPARATION:
Add all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl and mix them together
by slowly adding the flour.
Knead the mixture until you have pliable dough.
Take a small part from the dough in the shape of a meatball
and then open up the dough with your hands on the surface you’re working on.
Then with a teaspoon add some of the cheese filling in the center of the dough,
fold the dough and close it up by pressing a fork on the edges.
Do this process with all the dough and then add them in a baking pan and coat them with the whisked egg.
If you want you can sprinkle the with sesame seed…I didn’t had any so I didn’t add any. Bake them using the air function at 180C until they pick a golden color.
NOTE: With you make the pies with sausage, it’s tastier if you add ketchup-mustard before you add the sausage in the dough. It’s a very tasty and crispy dough recipe that comes from Cyprus.
They can be eaten perfectly even the next day. The recipe was given to us years ago when I was still a child by my mother’s cousin that used to live in Cyprus, which means it’s a delicious Cypriot recipe. It’s identical to my own on the internet.
GOOD LUCK!!!
